The blast furnace is regarded as the most automatic means of producing metal without halting production. Upgrading improves the technology and the heat generation to ensure increased daily production. Metal is harder, more resistant and more malleable than pig iron and is used primarily for ship construction and for finer structures. |

The Blast Furnace functions as a converter, changing Pig Iron into Metal at a ratio of two units of Pig Iron for every unit of Metal produced. Because of that, it's strongly recommended to have an equal or greater level on the Pig iron Mine. Research's such as Mining Technology do not affect the Metal output.
